The CAPPS II Process

The 49th state is divided into 16 boroughs instead of counties. As the name suggests, it has no immediate borough government and is administered directly by the state government.
When you think about it, you will realize that Alaska is a Republican leaning state although it has strong libertarian urges. Politicians in the state work on issues related to land use, development, tourism, fishing and individual rights. It also has a house of representatives consisting of 40 members who serve two year terms.
